5 out of 5 stars Great product for my Macbook (2007)   July 27, 2010
G. Sanchez (NJ, USA)
My Macbook feels a lot faster and responsive than it ever did with my previous HD (the original that comes with the laptop). I researched online into how to install it and it took me around 10 minutes to get it done. Beats paying $300 at the Mac store to get a worse HD installed.

I did some research and the WD HD was the best when balancing the features against the price. The noise level is pretty low and it doesn't heat up. The computer works like new now.

I would definitely recommend this product for anybody looking for this type of HD for their laptop.

5 out of 5 stars Great laptop hard drive   July 22, 2010
Bradley (Houston, TX USA)
This is an economical, snappy 7200 RPM hard drive that manages to keep a relatively cool temperature (compared to my old 5400 RPM) during moderate use.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Hard Drive   July 16, 2010

Quiet cool hard drive for windows 7 on an HP Lenovo laptop no issues runs great

5 out of 5 stars Fine hard disk   July 12, 2010
J. Elkins (Chicago, IL)
I installed this hard disk in an old Intel mac mini that used to have a 60GB drive. The Mac mini is a bear to disassemble, but this hard disk pops right in once you make your way into the machine - just format the hard disk and reinstall the OS, and you're off.

Now that it's in, everything runs nicely. There is a perceptible vibration that wasn't there with the old drive, but you have to almost put your ear on the case to hear it. The machine seems to run no hotter than it used to as well. There is no audible noise from the heads seeking. And of course, the machine is markedly faster - seems like about 20% faster or so when reading the disk.

The only remaining question is how durable it will be. I've had good luck with WD drives (and bad luck with Seagates) so hopefully this little drive is still running at least five years from now.

5 out of 5 stars Great product for MacBook owners   July 11, 2010
Traveller (in the aether)
I bought this a few months ago to replace the factory disk in my 2007 MacBook Pro. It's been fantastic. Everything is faster, and it operates almost inaudibly. Of course I haven't had it long enough to comment on its longevity, but WD have never let me down before. I can't recommend this enough for MacBook owners.
